We are pleased to announce the supply of one horizontal Gamesa Induction synchronous generator for the refurbishment of the Andakílsá Hydroelectric Plant in Borgarfjörður, Iceland.
The Andakílsá plant, originally commissioned in the late 1940s, has an installed capacity of approximately 8 MW and harnesses the flow of the Andakílsá river to generate renewable electricity for local consumption.
The newly supplied generator will be installed as part of a modernization and refurbishment program aimed at improving the plant’s operational reliability and efficiency, supporting continued renewable energy production and strengthening the lifecycle performance of the facility.
This project marks our first reference in Iceland, strengthening our commitment to hydropower modernization and underscoring our continued international growth and competitive presence in key markets.
