Supply of Two Synchronous Generators for Penderisco Hydroelectric Project, Colombia

Share:

We are pleased to announce the supply of two Gamesa Induction synchronous generators rated at 12,330 kVA each for the Penderisco Hydroelectric Project in Colombia.

The Penderisco project is a run-of-river hydropower development located in the department of Antioquia, designed to harness the natural flow of the river while minimizing environmental impact. With an installed capacity of approximately 19.9 MW and an expected annual energy production of around 140 GWh, the plant will contribute to strengthening the country’s renewable energy supply and supporting regional energy security.

As a run-of-river facility, the project is characterized by reduced land use and limited reservoir requirements, helping to preserve the surrounding ecosystem while generating clean and reliable electricity. In addition, the development supports Colombia’s broader decarbonization objectives and the ongoing transition toward sustainable energy sources.

The supply of these two generators reinforces our commitment to delivering high-performance rotating electrical equipment for hydropower applications and to contributing to the development of renewable energy infrastructure in Latin America.
