Supply of a 5,550 kVA Vertical Synchronous Generator for Hydropower Plant in Norway

Share:

We are pleased to announce the award and supply of one 5,550 kVA vertical synchronous generator for a hydropower facility located at Osvassvegen 6, 5284 Tyssebotnen, Tyssebotnen, Norway. This project represents an important contribution to the modernization and continued optimization of renewable energy generation in the region.

The new vertical synchronous generator has been designed to ensure high efficiency, operational reliability, and long service life, fully adapted to hydropower applications. Its integration will enhance the plant’s performance by improving energy conversion efficiency, strengthening grid stability through advanced voltage and reactive power control capabilities, and ensuring robust operation under continuous duty conditions. The vertical configuration is particularly suitable for hydro installations, allowing compact design, mechanical stability, and optimal alignment with turbine systems.

Beyond the technical improvements, the project supports significant environmental benefits. By reinforcing renewable electricity production, the generator contributes to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, the optimization of natural water resource utilization, and the long-term sustainability of Norway’s predominantly low-carbon energy mix. Hydropower plays a central role in the country’s energy system, and this supply further strengthens reliable, clean, and locally generated power for the community and the grid.

We are proud to support this initiative with advanced technology that contributes to efficient, sustainable, and future-oriented energy generation.
